Fitting The Pieces Together
Fitting the Pieces Together Group is designed for children who are on the Spectrum, including Autism, Aspergers, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, and Sensory Integration. Labels are not as important as your child's individual needs. We work on social skills including emotional management, pragmatic and social communication skills in a group therapy setting. Our goaql is to make each group dynamic appropriate for all children involved. Each group will be organized dependent upon age, maturity level, abilities, and individual needs. Children must be potty trained and be able to communicate using basic phrases and sentences in order to participate in this group. Your child will receive the individual attention they require in our intimate group therapy setting!
The Social Butterflies
The Social Butterflies Group targets social skills, pragmatic language, and language related social skills. Understanding social cues from peer groups is not intuitive to all individuals. In the Social Butterflies group your child will work with other children on issues such as:
-turn taking
-flexibility of language and perspective-taking
-tone of voice and volume
-non verbal communication
-timing
-social cues
-and more!
Teamwork activities will give your child the ability to work with others while receiving immediate feedback on social skills. Children will be asked to “rethink and redo!” in order to learn new and appropriate social skills.
Rock Star Readers
Our unique Rock Star Reader’s Dyslexia Program uses a two pronged approach; (1) Brain training and (2) Research-based therapies. We utilize brain training techniques that stimulate the neural pathways that subserve reading and written language. Our therapies target phonological skills related to reading decoding, spelling encoding, and overall reading comprehension and fluency.
