Philosophy of Swank Education Academy
Individual brains are created with innate genetic make-up and the environment with which the individual interacts. The unique learner does not learn in a “one-size-fits-all” curriculum. Boundaries are important and necessary, yet within wise boundaries an individual’s creative learning style and talents can evolve with the facilitation of a more expert learner. Discovery of new knowledge is an adventure that should be life long. This is the philosophy of the Swank Education Academy.

SEA Curriculum
SEA is not curriculum driven. Children at SEA are unique learners who require an eclectic approach to learning. Therefore, based on the child’s learning style and needs individualized and customized curriculum will be developed. Core areas of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies will be taught.

Qualifications for SEA
SEA accepts children grades first through fifth that present with atypical learning styles and needs such as ASD, ADHD, Sensory Integration, Speech & Language Deficits, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and who have average or above average intelligence.

Benefits of SEA
Children with unique learning styles do not typically thrive in traditional school settings. SEA has small classes with individualized programs. SEA is multi-sensory and multi-modality in its approach. SEA focuses on skill development with end of the year standardized testing to compare with traditional school grade placement.

Objective of SEA
The main objective is to serve the community of children with learning differences. In many cases personalized education is the only option. Traditional school is significantly verbal linguistic. SEA implements demonstration, hands-on, visual-spatial and oral-motor emphasis for academic skills development. Thus, children learn and thrive academically.

The difference of SEA
SEA is unique because it offers an excellent faculty that is educated in the areas of child language and learning development as it relates to the acquisition of academic and social skills across the academic lifespan. The faculty is focused on working with children’s learning styles and delays. Many programs provide tutoring or private education that follo traditional teaching methods, however, SEA faculty teaches children to their unique learning styles and needs.

SEA half-day school provides time for other activities
SEA schedule provides time for outside recreational activity such as art, music, sports, etc. SEA faculty will provide a list of outside services within the community that your child can attend while they are not at SEA. Our facility also offers supplemental tutoring at the Swank Institute after SEA hours.
