About Swank Enrichment Center

Linda K Swank, B. A., M.A., M. Ed., PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Swank received her BA and MA in Speech-Language Pathology followed by a Masters Degree in Special Education Administration from Wichita State University. Dr. Swank received her Doctor of Philosophy in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Kansas, the nation's premier research program in Child Language Development and Language Disorders and Life Span Studies.  Dr. Swank taught for several years at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia prior to returning to Wichita State University, as Chairperson of the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences. Dr. Swank is a published author in several peer-reviewed journals. Her passion is diagnosing an individual and designing individualized and customized therapies to accelerate acquisition of needed communication skills in all four modalities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing across the life span.

Keely Messina, B. S., Communication Disorders and Sciences
Keely is a recent graduate of the University of Texas-Austin in the area of Speech and Language Therapy. Keely has been accepted into the Masters Degree program for Communication Disorders and Sciencesat the University of Houston. Keely is licensed by the state of Texas as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Keely also holds a certificate in the Interactive Metronome (www.interactivemetronome.com), a brain training therapy. Keely has experience in working with children who present with speech, language and auditory disorders and looks forward to be part of the Swank Enrichment team.
 

Mary Beth Hartwell Office Administrator & Homeschool/Parent Advisor
Mary Beth has 15 years as a retail executive manager at Ralph Lauren and Neiman Marcus in the Park Cities of Dallas and in Austin. She retired to become a full time mother. She transferred her managerial skills to home-schooling her two sons. One son entered university life at age 15 with scholarships while the other son returned to Austin High achieving Honor Roll status. Mary Beth loves helping parents discover the best educational match for children who are uniquely talented. She is a natural net-worker, organizing the Swank Enrichment Center staff and activities to benefit the clients who partake in the various therapies and educational programs.
